For what I have gained for looking at these example mastheads is the type of style I want to use a rough looking type face to represent the gritty and griminess of indie rock. as this gained for how in contrast to normal indie mast heads these lack the true griminess of indie rock. for the house color of my mast heads i have also learnt that most indie rock mastheads don't go for a dark theme witch think doesn't fairly represent yet again the dark griminess of indie rock and culture. with this in consideration i wanted to go with the common trend while showing abit of grittiness via the type face
Mk1 of my mast heads followed the convention of a grimy looking type face witch works well to give the conations wanted. for what I want to change about my first version is the color scheme where it will be the color red to give the connation of anger given the subjects around indie rock and rock its self witch I want to represent for the common given the FTC.
given the change in color change I still feel like with the FTC is doesn't come off as a acronym given the placement as well as verticalness of it so for this I want to show more of a contrast on back ground to red text as well as placement to show FOR THE COMMON
after looking into at the update done to my mast head I don't like the house colors being purely black and red given the magazine as itself is already filled with a collection of black and white images and text/content and graphic in contrast to red I wanted to go with a yellow and contrast the indie to the back ground making it white
with the updates and changes I want to use this final version of my masthead as I think it fairly is balanced in color scheme while showing and carrying the grimy and hazard of indie rock and its life style with the connation of the yellow being a hazard
